CLANTON, Charles Raymond, 70, of Tullahoma, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at St. Thomas Medical Center Hospital in Nashville. A native of Bedford County, he was the son of the late Charles William and Dorothy McNatt Clanton. He was a brave Navy veteran and was retired from BellSouth as a construction foreman. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Clanton, Tullahoma; one son, Chuck (Lisa) Clanton. Spring Hill; two daughters, Laura MacDermott, Smyrna, and Lisa Miller, Tullahoma; two stepdaughters, Karen (Mike) Bra- shears and Terra (Greg) Trail, both of Manchester, and six grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Tullahoma Funeral Home with services immediately following in the chapel at 2 p.m. with Bro.   MUSE, Charles Amacie,  Sr., a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and former P.O.W., died Monday, Feb. 20, at his home in Mountain Brook, Ala., at the age of 90. A native of Tullahoma, he was the son of the late Amacie Lee Muse and Delia Blanche Dyson Muse of Tullahoma. He was a 1942 graduate of Tullahoma High School and served three years in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a B26 bombardier/navigator in the 432nd Squadron, 17th Bomb Group, 12th Air Force. In February of 1945 his plane was shot down over Strasbourg, Germany, and he and the crew were taken prisoner. After liberation from a German prison camp, Lt. Col. Muse returned to the states and served in the Air Force Reserve for 30 years. He earned his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Tennessee in 1948. While at UT he was a member of the Zeta Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, Class of ‘46, and remained active in the Pike Alumni Association until his death. He joined Southern Bell Telephone Co. in 1948. During his 37-year telecommunications career he served in various capacities living in five different cities, which included his last posting as division revenue manager in Jackson, Miss. Retiring in 1985, Mr. Muse was best known for introducing computerized billing into AT&T, The Bell System in 1966. Mr. Muse, a Mason, was a member of Mountain Brook Baptist Church and the Alabama Prisoners of War Association. He participated in many community activities and charities in each of the cities in which he served. This included the St. Labre Indian School, the Boy Scouts in Atlanta, Ga., Southern Bell Pioneers in Atlanta, Ga., and South Central Bell Pioneers in Birmingham, Ala., and Jackson, Miss. Visitation was held Wednesday at Rideout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood, Ala., with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. Interment was in Forest Crest Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Winifred Martin Muse; sons, Charles Amacie Muse Jr., Birmingham, Ala., and Lawrence Douglas Muse and wife Patricia O’Bannon Muse; granddaughter, Alexis Muse Osbun, her husband Charles C. Osbun, and their daughters, Sophia Louise and Delia Josephine; grandson, Amacie (Mace) Lee Muse II, and granddaughter, Chloe Dyson Muse, all of Mountain Brook, Ala.; grandson, Charles “Mac” McLaughlin Muse, and granddaughter, Kate-Pride Muse, Atlanta, Ga.; his sister, Mrs. Josephine Muse Knight, Tullahoma,  and brother, William Jefferson Muse, Murfreesboro. DILLARD, David Delrece, 50, of Tullahoma, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at Harton Regional Medical Center.  David was born May 6, 1961, in Cannon County, Tenn., the son of Jewell Elizabeth Little Dillard and the late Jake Dillard. He was employed with Carrier Inc. from 1988 until the plant’s closing in 2005. He enjoyed working on cars through the years and more recently, traveling. In addition to his father, Jake Dillard, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jake Dillard Jr. In addition to his mother, Jewell E. Dillard, of Manchester, he is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Doris J. Dillard, Tullahoma; five children, Bethany McGee and Amber Dillard, both of Tullahoma; Taryn Dillard (Ben Aulph) and Jessica Dillard, both of  Manchester, and Shavonne Dillard, Cleveland, Ohio;  five grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters, Forrestine Rowe, Manchester; Tom and Jeannette Dillard,  Woodbury; Melvin Dillard and Phyllis, Cleveland, Ohio; Dennis and Phyllis Dillard, also of Cleveland, Ohio; Nellie and Bobby Battles; Myrtle Mae Dillard; Elizabeth Diane Peppers and Harry Eugene Dillard, all of Manchester, and Sarah Alice Dillard and Carter, Columbus, Ga.; several devoted friends to include Cleo Sanders, Jerry Francis, Carter, Lawrence Hyatt and Jody Brinkley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. FOSTER, Edna Pauline, 83, of Estill Springs,  died  Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Willows at Winchester. A native of Sewanee, she was the wife of the late Alton C. Foster.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted in the chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25.  Interment will be in the Eastern Star Cemetery in Sewanee. ROBERTSON, James Edward “Blooper,” 85, of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester. He was born March 29, 1926, in Decherd, the son of the late Charles G. and Elizabeth Kennerly Robertson. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and worked as a general contractor. Mr. Robertson was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Gail Robertson, and  brother, Charles K. Robertson. He was a loving father and grandfather; a beloved friend and he will be greatly missed. Surviving are daughters, Debbie (Scott) Smith, Winchester;  Jeanne (Greg) Vaughn, Decherd, and Cheri (Jack) Crockett, Knoxville; grandchildren, Audrey Crockett, Chris (Tiffany) Vaughn, Julie Vaughn, Beth (Chris) Thompson, Emily (Brant) McGill and Laura (Harris) Oppenheimer; and great-grandchildren, Nathan Thompson, Scotty Thompson, Will Thompson, Harris Oppenheimer Jr., Maggie Vaughn and Allie Vaughn.   MASHBURN, Jimmie Paul, 73, of Tullahoma, passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, in Illinois. A native of Lexington, Ala., he was the son of the late Oliver Paul and Susie Lurene Davis Mashburn. He was a retired supervisor at SAS and was a brave military veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Bevela Ann Mashburn, one son; Anthony Paul Mashburn, and a  daughter, Bevela Jean Meese. He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Mashburn; three sons, Jim (Tina) Mashburn, Clarksville; Max (Kathy) Mashburn, Robinson, Ill., and Brad (Serena) Mashburn, Estill Springs, two daughters, Kim (Bill) Delph, Cartersville, Ga., stepdaughter, Theresa Brewer and her significant other, Ricky Morris; one stepson, William (Christy) Stephens, Belvidere; one stepdaughter, Tina (Josh) Smith, 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one sister; Martha Fay Sandstrom, Boca Raton, Fla., and three brothers, Roger Mashburn, Canton, Ga., Max David Mashburn, Woodriver, Ill.,, and Nathaniel Mashburn, Smyrna, Ga. BROWN, Rita, 50, of Cowan, passed away Feb. 20, 2012, at Harton Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Carr Fultz. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Tony Brown, and daughter, Kayla Watkins, both of Cowan; sons, David Lee Watkins, Cowan; Benton (Tina) Brown, Estill Springs, and Michael (Candice) Brown, Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Jordon Albert Watkins, Christen Houk, Chelsea Stewart and expecting two more grandchildren; father, Albert (Jerry) Fultz, Baltimore, Md., and sisters, Alison (Shawn) Monihan and Vicki Ray, both of Baltimore, and Helen (PJ) Lemmen and Susan Raford, both of Fort Wayne, Ind. WELCH, Margaret Collins, of Winchester,  died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, in  Scottsdale, Ariz. A native of Petersburg, she worked for Bell South telephone company for over 40 years and was the wife of the late Kenneth Earl Welch.  PLESS, Miriam Herd died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2012, in Huntsville, Ala. The family will receive friends and family from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma, according to a daughter, Melissa Richardson Temperle.
